Gifted author Jeannie Moon swept me away to the quaint town of Angel Harbor in her newest book, Christmas in Angel Harbor. The town is the embodiment of small town life, especially at Christmas...it receives the gift of love through the presence of Jane and her generational book store, Harbor Books. With the quality of affection that transcends what one expects from small town life, her characters steal your heart through the tenderness they hold for Jane and her little store. Entering back into Jane’s life after years of separation Dan, now a best selling author, brings the one kind of love that neither has found since they parted. The emotional journey they take to find what they lost is at the same time poignant and joyous. There is one thing I have come to expect from the characters in each of Ms Moon’s books...no matter how many different storylines...they are all unique and have a depth of character not often found with other authors. These are the types of characters who stay with you long after the stories have ended. I was also taken with the wry wit and humor threaded throughout the story...the quips between the myriad of characters were often laugh out loud hilarious...though they were subtle at the same time.
