Yogi Ramacharaka was an American pioneer of the New Thought movement. In this work, he hopes to awaken the minds of the Western world to the value of the Yogi "Science of Breath." The Oriental teachers say that in addition to the physical benefit derived from correct habits of breathing, Man's mental power, happiness, self-control, clear-sightedness, morals, and even his spiritual growth may be increased by an understanding of the "Science of Breath" (Pranayama). Yogi Ramacharaka explains how to acquire the yogi complete breath and its physiological effect. He also describes the favorite exercises of the Yogis for developing the lungs, muscles, ligaments, air cells, etc. He gives full directions for the acquirement of this superior method of breathing, with a lot of exercises (with step-by-step descriptions). They are quite simple, but marvelously effective.
