Description

A defiant Celtic noblewoman, a fierce Norse captor, and an undeniable passion ignited across the frozen fjords.

Lovely and dauntless, abducted by invaders from across an icy sea, Lady Breena vowed vengeance swearing no Viking brute would be her master no barbarian would enslave her noble Celtic heart, but then came Garrick Haardrad, the proud and powerful son of a ruthless Viking chieftain.

Trained to wield a blade in Wales, Breena resolved that no arrogant captor would conquer her fighting spirit. Brought to his stone manor on the Horten Fjord, she shunned women’s chores to care for spirited stallions in the stable.

Garrick had hardened his heart against women after a bitter betrayal, yet his captive’s fearless gaze provoked an irresistible hunger. Amid the icy northern wilderness, the Norse merchant determined that no rebellious prisoner would ever master his unyielding will.

Two fierce warriors clash along the frozen cliffs of Norway, where vengeance wages war against an undeniable desire.
Enemies to Lovers: Abducted from her burning Welsh manor, Breena refuses to bow to the arrogant warrior who claims her as his prize, only to find their mutual hostility kindling into a dangerous obsession.Forced Proximity: Confined within Ulric’s stone manor high above the waters, Garrick and Breena wage an intimate war of wills where every clash brings them closer to surrender.Haardrad Family: Behind Anselm’s boisterous solstice feasts and Garrick’s far-flung trading voyages lies a deadly clan rivalry with the Borgsens that threatens to shatter the fragile peace of the fjord.Revenge Romance: Reunited with her silver-gray mare Willow by an unexpected chieftain’s gift, Breena plots her flight even as Garrick’s fierce protection tests her vow of vengeance. Also by This Author: Love Only Once, Gentle Rogue and The Heir.

Even if you have rape fantasies, I’m not sure how this is a good read. I know there are people who like this book, but I don’t get it. The hero becomes vaguely likable at the end, but only if you forget he’s a rapist slave owner who facilitates the rape of his slaves by his friends.

One of my favorite books! Read this when I was 17 and just reread it again. I was surprised how much I remembered of it considering it’s been 25 years since I read it last. That’s goes to show how memorable it is. Loved it the first time, loved it this time.
