I have already read The Women, so I thought I had an insight into women in wartime. This was a new revelation. Goodness it was hard to read and hard to put down.

We’re gradually learning to appreciate the impact service in the military has on women. Kristen Hannah is a masterful storyteller who guides the reader through the personal and professional challenges of women and their families dealing with the military way of life.

I love her writing and the heart and soul she puts into it. This is a unique story, full of very real life, and very well developed characters. Having grown up in a military family this resonates deeply with me. Thank you, Kristin Hannah, for another very worthwhile read.
