A bit over the top but an excellent read

Exceptional, interesting, keeps you on your toes never wanting to put it down! I love John Grisham.

Fascinating story telling. An absolute delight. Jake, Seth, the judge, Lettie, Lucien, Ancil, they all come alive as you read and turn the pages.

Truly enjoyed reading this book! So very crafty of JG. So many times during the read I felt like I was right in the story and couldn’t wait to turn the next page!

This book keeps you guessing, you think Jake is done and will lose the case. Lucien comes through in way you never thought would happen.

Mr. Grisham always keeps me looking forward to picking up his books again! Thank you!

Reels you in from the outset. Great characters and a good read. A bit predictable but the story is a reminder of the South’s dark past.

Took way too long to set the characters and the situations, then put it all together in one finishing chapter.

This book is more timely now than when it was written.
