Book 2 was not quit as strong as book one. A bit repetitive on the abuse of Elizabeth by her father and town folk. The situations in town go from one extreme, to the next, to the next, and they are all a little off. Mob mentality off.

I usually finish a book in just a few days, but this one had me going for almost two weeks. I read the first book in the series because it was free, and it had fabulous reviews. I had already downloaded the second book in the series, “Preserving Hope”. So I just moved on to this next book with the hope that it’s predecessor was slow to grab me because it was an introduction to a complicated series. I say this because it was repetitive, and it told the same story from every single character’s perspective. So, I got a little bored with it. The second book just seemed super drawn out to me. The supporting characters were not lovable either. I kept wanting to shake everyone....hard. They just all reminded me of spoiled children. So I was irritated & frustrated with them all more then I wasn’t feeling that way. That being said, I haven’t decided if I’ll break my cardinal rule of finishing what I’ve started once I’ve committed to it. I finished this book, and I will admit, that the end was so much more satisfying then the chapters that preceded it. So that was a redeeming quality. Finishing the series would answer any question I might have lingering about the story line in my mind. My problem right now is deciding if it’s worth it. Maybe I’ll just take a break and come back at it with new eyes. The main characters are likable, and I want them to succeed. Knowing the rest of their journey would be nice. It’s just the stuff in between that remains a dilemma for me. I’ll sleep on it and decide later. This may just not be my kinda story. Others love this series. So give it a chance. Maybe it’ll pull you in better then it did me. I wish you all Happy Reading!!!

Interesting storyline and characters. The human elements are real and relatable. This could be a stand-alone book, however Book 1 is a must read to fully understand what drives the main character.

So far this series has been excellent, I can't wait to complete it 😊

Well then. A girl named Elizabeth being held prisoner by her power hungry father? Hmmm... I wonder if the people who came up with the storyline for bioshock infinite read this. The whole time I read it I felt like the bioshock Elizabeth was a more watered down, family friendly translation of this one. Whatever the reasoning, I loved this book, and it wrung much more emotion out of me than all the last 20 books I've read put together. I intend to avidly read anything else this amazing author writes.

While this second book did not have the same level of action that the first one did, it was strong in plot and character development which is so key to every well told story. The series as a whole is an addicting, high tech romp as well as a thumping good read. I can't recommend it highly enough. Fabulous characters, great plot, nice twists at the end, swift pacing, what more could a girl ask for?

There were so many repetitions in the story. Telling the stories again and again kills the suspense and made the book a little annoying.

I was looking for something new and I was pleasantly surprised with finding this series. Wonderful!
