Perplexing

I didn't like anything about this book. From the start to the end, it disappointed me. Its characters are shallow and overly dramatic. Its plot is commonplace and poorly developed. It's not a badly written novel, but nether is it a well-written one. There's really nothing there. Instead of sympathy, for the wretched Madame Bovary, I feel contempt. What a whiny, despicable girl.
