Following the closure of a gypsum mine in the rural Nevada town she calls home, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road. Exploring life outside conventional society as a modern-day nomad, Fern soon discovers a resilience and resourcefulness that present her with experiences unlike any she’s known before. Along the way in this story of hope, she meets other nomads who become mentors in her life amidst the vast, sometimes breathtaking landscape of the American West. From Searchlight Pictures and acclaimed director Chloé Zhao, NOMADLAND features real-life nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells. With care and insight, Zhao crafted the screenplay, based on Jessica Bruder’s book “Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century.” McDormand brings Fern to life with a powerful, authentic performance. Also starring David Strathairn in a gripping turn as a man Fern befriends, NOMADLAND is a fascinating celebration of humanity, independence and adventure.

  • Too horrible for words

Nomanland is a waste of time. Hours you’ll never get back. The movie never developed any type of plausible or story-worthy plot. There was never a time where a character’s development arched or when the audience was connected to the bigger holistic message. I kept wanting to like it, because F. M. is an amazing actor. What a waste of something that could have been epic.
  • Everyday

This staged documentary captures the dreary existence of people who choose or fall into life in an RV. It is pretty much life from job to job, but in the new west it's not on horseback. Take it one step further and you have the feral people lately being called "unhoused" but to see that life watch Leave No Trace.
  • Beautiful cinema.

Where depth and imagination have been lobotomized by lowest common denominators. There are the atrophic substrata of viewers that just won’t get it.
  • people are not scared enough, yet; and the stories like this movie are becoming norm.

scamazon is such a destructing force in all working communities; as much as fauxnews is brainwashing… the feable-minded are trully unaware of the irreparable damage being built by this century’s orange-skinned mussolini… need more stories like this, and just maybe the snakes can be stomped out with love, truth and history.

This is a totally bleak and depressing film felt like I was at a funeral.
  • That is not a film!!!

That was a waste of time. I felt like I was watching a non eventful documentary vastly moreso than a story that has arcs. This just had a negative slope from minute one. I can’t rate the acting since it was just so bad of a story.

I cannot believe this movie was even nominated for best picture, let alone won. When I think of some of the great films that have won best picture in the past, you can’t even put Nomadland in their same category although considering what the crazy people in the academy have been voting for the past few years, I’m not surprised. This film was nothing more than a documentary/travelogue with no action and even less of a plot. Don’t waist your money renting and definitely don’t buy it!

Unbelievable that this movie received awards. Give me my money back. It makes awards a joke, very frankly.
  • Could Barely Contain Myself

This is one of those films that just spikes one’s adrenaline. The suspense of the road. The excitement of the search for employment. I haven’t even mentioned the dance scenes. Definitely not a movie for those that have to watch their blood pressure.
  • Not worth it

This is awful. Another Hollywood movie that they try and shove beliefs down your throat.
