Description

Two macabre masters - writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero - conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic '50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father's Day cake. A meteor's ooze makes everything ... grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of a fine cast (Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the Creepshow begin.

George Romero, director of classic movie chillers like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Monkey Shines, Stephen King, author of classic horror novels like Pet Sematary, The Shining, and Cujo. Put them together for one movie and you’ve got a match made in horror heaven, as Creepshow proves! A ghoulishly fun collection of 5 comic book style tales of terror: Father’s Day, The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill, Something to Tide You Over, The Crate, They’re Creeping Up On You. Which one is the best? You decide! I love them all!

I have loved Creepshow for years. My wife has as well and now the torch has been passed to my 2 year old son who has taken it to the heights as both me and my wife has lol. When he goes “Where’s my cake?!?” And try’s to growl it like it’s done in the movie is an automatic win hahah. This is a movie you simply don’t rent. If you loved other anthology flicks like Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Hood, Trick R’ Treat and of course Tales From The Darkside then check this one out that pretty much started it all. From Stephen King and George A. Romero (RIP) comes a love letter to horror fans. I present to you Creepshow! Do not rent this. BUY IT!!!!!

Very weird and campy, but still great! The lighting and general direction is unique to this movie and it is well worth watching and buying!

Starring Hal Holbrook. Adrienne Barbeau. Leslie Nielsen. Directed by George A. Romero. The selfish old Nathan Grantham says "Bedelia I want my cake!" as he wakes up from the dead in the excerpt Father's Day. George A. Romero's Creepshow delivers jolting fun for audiences as it is truly creepy. It follows five horrifying tales of terror as they have a moral in each of them. It can also be very witty especially from Stephen King's dimwitted character Jordy Verrill. As Nathan said he wants his cake, after this movie viewers are going to be wanting more of this cake.
