Description

Barely out of school and still searching for his voice as an artist, twenty-year-old Thom looks forward to another idyllic holiday in his hometown of Placerville, CA, a rustic hamlet nestled in the Sierra foothills. But this Christmas, Placerville is struggling: the town’s tourist industry is failing, Thom’s ailing, once-brilliant mentor, Glen, has lost his ability to paint, and Thom’s spirited mother, MaryAnne, reveals that she’s losing their family home to foreclosure. Faced with so much uncertainty, Thom comes to realize that salvation may lie in the community of friends and loved ones he left behind. With Glen’s help, he not only discovers himself as an artist, but also helps the entire town of Placerville rediscover the true spirit of the holidays.

  • Disgusting Movie

My husband and I watched it and both thought it was horrible! There were so many elements that made it NOT a family movie, porn books, way too much cleavage, swearing, references to sex, mocking the nativity………..what in the world?! Why was this made into a Christmas movie?? What was the point?? I didn’t know anything about Thomas Kinkade, but since watching the movie I Googled his name and found out he’s not even a Christian. I was sooooo disappointed. If we could have rated it 0 stars, we would have!

Not my favorite…I was sad most of the time. I watched it once, but, not twice.

They should make a movie about all the times Thomas Kinkade got drunk and publicly urinated on stuff, he even urinated on a Winnie the Pooh statue in the middle of the Disneyland hotel lobby. Yup, he called it "ritual territory marking". Google it.
  • Extremely disappointed

We were so disappointed that we turned the movie off 20 min. or so after starting, due to repeated sexual innuendos, including the role of "Mary" in a Christmas play being played by a woman revealing cleavage. Sadly this movie caused us to question Thomas Kinkade's values and his Christian faith. We were stunned and believe that this is a PG 13 (not a PG) that should not be viewed by any family trying to teach healthy moral sexuality and reverence for God in their home.
  • The worst Christmas movie I

We were offended at many things in this movie. Too much cleavage for a "family" movie. Sexual innuendos all over the place. Course, our family watches clean TV and movies, so this was very offensive to us. The worst thing? Mocking the nativity and the story of Jesus' birth. I expected more from something with Thomas Kincade's name on it. He should be ashamed.
  • Not only the worst Christmas movie, but the worst movie in general

What a huge disappointment. This movie is depressing from start to finish. There doesn't seem to be any clear plot and there is never a happy ending. The reviews must be from the actors because this movie is just bad, bad, bad.

This is one of the best Christmas films I've seen. Having an all-star, Academy Award-winning cast helps - O'Toole, Gay-Harden, and Ed Asner (his appearance is brief but leaves an impression) to name a few. The story is even more compelling since it is based on truth. At the very least, worth a rent. But, I'll be getting a copy to watch with the whole family in December - another tradition in the making.

I wanted to learn more about Thomas Kincade and I loved the actors, so I gave it a try... Then, I had to buy it in HD because it was soooo beautiful and touching. Great Holiday movie, but loved it in June also :-) I would have loved to see this on the big screen.

To be honest, the only reason why I decided to watch this movie is because I simply adore everything Jared Padalecki's in. But this movie is truly touching. It's so sweet, honest, and genuine that it touches your heart. Probably one of the best Christmas movies I've ever watched. Everything about this film, from the acting, to the costuming, to the music - all if it was so well done. I highly recommend this movie. I just wish it had been in theaters!
