Description

Jason Bateman makes his feature directorial debut with the subversive comedy, Bad Words. Bateman stars as Guy Trilby, a 40-year-old who finds a loophole in the rules of The Golden Quill national spelling bee and decides to cause trouble by hijacking the competition. Contest officials, outraged parents, and overly ambitious 8th graders are no match for Guy, as he ruthlessly crushes their dreams of victory and fame. As a reporter (Kathryn Hahn) attempts to discover his true motivation, Guy finds himself forging an unlikely alliance with a competitor: awkward 10-year-old Chaitanya (Rohan Chand), who is completely unfazed by Guy’s take-no-prisoners approach to life.

    watched this with zero expectations and i was pleasantly surprised. Funny, fun characters... jason bateman was great as always and so was his small co-star rohan chand!

    Great story and AWESOME dialogue , but why is iTunes not renting it out and forcing to purchase ONLY ??? It was on my list too see , but I stumbled on it on YouTube for FREE ( Dec. 2015 ) . I've been spending a lot of money with iTunes for the past 3 months ( renting 14 shows a month ) , but on some movies ( not many ) they're purchase only - WHY ???? I'll still rent from iTunes , but for 2016 I'm going to try Youtube a little . Also in HD on iTunes there's a lot of LAGGING ( stalls ) , so I have to download it in " SD " .

    This movie was great to see. I went to go see it, because all the other movie times were to late to watch. I'm glad I saw this! You'll laugh, feel sad, and then laugh again. It's not about just spelling words. I'm not going to spoil it for you, just take a chance. The two main characters did a fantastic job delivering this to the big screen for us viewers. Every line in this movie served a purpose and you want be disappointed. It's a must see movie.

    I love Jason's sense of humor and find it refreshing because it's quite creative. This movie has gotten me thru many airplane flights (I hate to fly) it keeps me laughing

    Lets just say it could have been BETTER , the comedy was only a few one liners. I smerked but for the most part i was board an yawned often. Dont waste your money on this slow drama that tries for a predctable ending.
