Description

Cable-news anchor Will McAvoy and his embattled staff at ACN face a possible network takeover and the repercussions that follow the receipt of leaked confidential documents in the 3rd and final season of Aaron Sorkin's acclaimed HBO drama series. As subpoenas are served and hostile-takeover rumors fly over the course of the six gripping episodes, McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) and his team redouble their efforts to “do the news well” in an increasingly competitive digital universe where tweets and Instagrams often trump old-fashioned professionalism. The cast includes Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn.

The only bad thing to say about Season 3 is that it's the last season. We need more writers like Sorkin!
  • Ah, what a great show.

Seriously, the final season is still worth watching! Writing is still sharp, acting is still phenomenal, and character development is amazing! You should watch this show if you like smart writing and excellent characters.
  • There are not enough series like this

This show gives us a sparkling cast of characters that we care about, concepts that make us think, ideals that uplift us, and some of the best writing on the planet. If there were more intelligent series like “The Newsroom,” (and “The West Wing”), perhaps TV wouldn’t have devolved to reality competitions and oft-twittered crap. I hope Aaron Sorkin never runs out of words!

This show is a MUST WATCH. Even if you’ve never set foot in a newsroom, you’ll still love it.

I'm a republican but this is a liberals dream show. I enjoy watching the atmosphere of a newsroom. And season one is most interesting when a "republican" anchor starts to attack the tea party. The whole show is basically a "republican" attacking people of his party and not touching anyone in the Democratic Party. However, it's a very good show that tries to do the news for the voter instead of the news for the entertainer.
