  • Their most AOR

    By griffdogg23
Not bad I think it’s their most AOR album! Take it back sounds like a Bruce Hornsby or Springsteen song.
  • The Tolling Of The Iron Bell

To hear the softly spoken magic spells. Amidst this album sounding majestic, and then kinda flat, is a thread of unmistakable beauty. Excellent production. Fantastic guitar work. Not as deep as their big concept albums, but every bit as wonderful.

One their best records, Songs are of deep thought and really make you feel good.
  • A old man

More to Floyd than lyrics it’s all about the jam one goes with the other that’s what makes Pink Floyd the greatest of all time
  • Missing the key piece!

    By iron maiden3
You can tell they were missing Waters, (the key creative piece of the band)! The songs are decent but lack the Floyd punch, (David’s wife co-wrote most of the lyrics) you get with The Wall, Dark Side & Wish You Were Here! High Hopes is the crown track on this album but yet, Nightwish did this better on End Of An Era!!
  • Embarrassing.

The songs are terrible, the lyrics are clownish, it even sounds bad - just a completely misconceived project. And by the way, this isn’t Pink Floyd, this is tasteless solo David Gilmour crap written for soulless middle-aged Tories.
  • Underrated

Essentially a David album, went largely unnoticed by the Floyd purists when it came out but one of the best Gilmore writing and playing. Ever. Gets better with time.

And everything about this album is perfect. Coming Back to Life Makes me feel so nostalgic for a time I wish I can go back to but
  • A grower, but really good when you understand it much more

A great Pink Floyd album, and I must say it grows on me the more I listen to it, Not enough to make it extremely high to the top but I like it alot. Definitely a more mature like album, tho Roger and his contributions are extremely missed I feel like Gilmour put lots of emotional personal experienced writing and less conceptual in his lyrics while still having a message. You can really feel the fallout they were having with Roger throughout songs like Lost for Words and Poles Apart. Less political and artistic, but very reflective and personally deep. Other great tracks are High Hopes and Take It back. Feels very right for its era and a 90s version of the prog rock sound. I know people wont check it out cause its no Roger and after the wall, but really take a listen and reflect on it.
