i LOVE alegranza and pop negro - both groove-heavy albums. unfortunately, hiperasia goes out of its way to stomp all over the groove over and over again...huge disappointment. the over-production kills the humanity his older releases never lost sight of. i never dreamed el guincho would be a chore to listen to, but here's the evidence. really looked forward to this one, too

been waiting for this album for awhile now… very different from his last one, but satisfyingly strange in the best way possible as only El Guincho knows how…loving Comix with Mala Rodriguez.

I will admit that it took me a minute to get past how much auto tune is used in all the songs, but once I got used to it, I was able to really enjoy this album. I Love to play this loud in my car; It’s got a thumping bass and super cool beats that rival anything out right now. 5 stars. Faves are Comix and Muchos Boys!
