I owned this on vinyl as a young man and had forgotten about it until a friend and I struck up a conversation about the Bad Brains. You will not be disappointed. Edgy and retro classic reggae sound.

i would really lovew this abum if only it didn't have that anoying synthesizer in there. there's a little to much going on here, i think hr got a little too carried away with everything in the backing track. H. R. is amazing thow (as always). it could have been one of his best if that keyboard would stop coming in and making it sound like cheap 90's reggae. i think H. R.'s best reggae work is on build a nation, its only 2 songs (Natty dredlocks on the moutain top & Roll on) but still amazing song, wish there were more like those.

I know H.R. focuses more on reggae now-a-days that he was more mellowed out. But his cuts here are back when he was still pretty wild. His wildness blends with the reggae backings effortlessly. I listen to traditional reggae from the 60s, 70s, 80s (list of names too long to start haha) but to take a turn and listen to H.R. always puts a smile on my face. Selassie Fee is my favorite song on this album hands down. The wild chant after each verse line is just awesome. Very well done H.R. very well done.

I listen to all styles of music from every genre from every generation. Mainstream or underground, it doesn't matter. This from track 1 to 10 is a perfect recording. It's my favorite document of music ever recorded. Its unexplainable. Just get it, if you like music at all, singing, rythems, lyrics, colors, volume, soul, Love, etc... then you will find something to appreciate here.
  • A must!

If you love reggae...any reggae,,,you must get this. H.R. wears his heart on his vocal chords and the emotion that comes through on this album is not just palpable, but earth shattering.

You know, you can just sleep on this album right now and not download it..but you'd be blowing it... This album is 10x better than Welcome to Jamrock (Damian Marley), the closest album I could relate this to would be the Black Uhuru - Anthem, but these riddims are much bigger than anything Sly and Robbie could pull off in their heyday. The best adjective to describe these riddims is KALEIDOSCOPIC....the sound is Huge. Only a limber vocalist like HR could even attempt to sing to these beats... I'm a deep Bad Brains fan, but I was always partial to their reggae tunes.....This album is like a dream come true to me....Everyone who hears this in my car just trips the hell out and asks "Who the hell is this?" Consider yourself a reggae/punk afficianado and d'l this whole album QUICK.
  • One of the best reggae albums

I am a reggae musician and was originally inspired by Bad Brains rock for light reggae tunes. This album is incredible. H.R. is more than a singer. He is a vocalist who experiments with his voice. This is truly his best vocal performance ever. It is not Bad Brains. It is the height of his reggae work. For those who like I and I or the meek from Rock for light then it is a sin to not own this.
