I usually don’t write or post about artist, but happened to see someone last night, I’ve never even heard of: Charlie Worsham’ Beginning of Things This dude can play. We were at an annual benefit concert in San Diego and Lonestar was closing (got to hang with after the show, and they’re the nicest brothers btw) but Charlie played earlier in the night and ripped, what I could tell, on an older Martin. His soul is rooted in the south, and had very strong flat pickin skills that reminisced bluegrass, and blues....with beautiful open chord voicings. Charlie played songs ; “Southern by the grace of God”, and “Take me Drunk” and others from his recent LP; “Beginning of Things” Last nites solo act; he walked/ran full circle around the neck.....whether playing strong and simple bass lines, or leads that danced in and out of rhythms .....He’s an authoritative player. I mean, We’ve all seen strummers...but this brother fully accompanys himself and plays much larger than a one man act. Almost “as if” he brought a session player along. I haven’t played in Nashville for a good ten years.....but If this is the next generation of what music row is producing, I’ts a fresh change and hopeful trend that will take root and maybe a surprising shift in sentiment. If you get a chance to check him out, as he’s riding thu your town....do it. He’s an amazing artist. I completely dig singer songwriters who are beyond gifted and know their calling. This player deserves your attention and you deserve Beginning of Things

Beautiful, heartfelt singing -- songs with powerful, moving stories. I cannot get enough of this artist; also, I can not longer claim I am not a country music fan. I am certainly a Charlie Worsham fan -- his music is simply brilliant.

I loved Charlie's single "Could it Be" from his last album, but hadn't really heard him on the airwaves since. I stumbled across a Rolling Stone article this morning about his new album, and I'm glad I did. THIS is country music. One of the better albums, front to back, that I've heard in quite some time. Well done Charlie.

I became a fan of Charlie when I literally stumbled into him at a corn hole tournament several years ago. (Sorry for almost knocking you down) He was so down to earth and completely a pleasure to meet. He played a few songs after the tournament and I was smitten. I see him play whenever I can and have been anxiously awaiting the release of The Beginning of Things. I was not disappointed. Charlie has grown up and a more mature sound can be heard on this project. He's making his mark and now it's our turn to cut our groove!!
