I honestly feel like this is Atmosphere’s best album, though I may be a bit biased because it’s the first one I bought. I probably listened to this hundreds of times as a kid. It’s a little more well produced and polished than God Loves Ugly. I really enjoy Slug’s flow on this collection of songs and how experimental it is, even incorporating background screamo vocals in ā€œBird Sings Why the Caged I Knowā€ (kind of appropriate since this was released on Epitath records). Slug was way ahead of his time. I respect that he eventually went in a more positive direction with his music, but I honestly miss some of the raw, negative energy here. It makes the music feel very real to me. Overall, Seven’s Travels is an emotional and in your face record with a creative, punk, anti-mainstream aesthetic. There isn’t a song I don’t like on this album.
