Reviews

  • A great, immersive soundtrack?

Why yes, it is one of the most influential soundtracks ever made as it gives I images of large armies and caravans traveling into foreign lands and countries.
  • Better than the actual movie

Have watched the film once and even though its got a great cast I somehow didn't like it. But I really love the score Vangelis wrote for it. Listened to this music over and over again. Just powerful !

A soaring soundtrack for a brillant epic by Oliver Stone! Amazing how many people disliked his movie; I thought it was fantastic!

I dont have any words to say about this soundtrack, really impress with Vangelis work, he continue doing a great job, not the best as Conquest of Paradise, but still its a great for all fans of Vangelis or not, its great to hear it

This music is beautifully written and wonderfully performed just as in Vangelis' "1492: Conquest of Paradise." The percussions are powerful and keep the music moving with passion. I'm not disappointed at all and will enjoy it for many years.
  • A perfect example of a great soundtrack

So many other movie soundtracks seem to fall victim to being mostly boring. Luckily this is not the case with Vangelis's work on the Alexander OST. This is a truly incredibly epic score, and adds to the movie quite a bit. While Alexander has to be the most under rated movie in my opinion, which causes the OST to be ignored and overlooked at times.
  • Very Bad...

This music just doesn't work. It's so........................ lame. Not to be the bearer of ill reviews, but come on. This score is full of lag, and the rhythm is everywhere -- it never stays smooth to the point where we begin to like a track (Across the Mountains is a prime example.) Overall, this is a very wannabe score, that confuses its date with what the music should reflect, eventually adding up to a mediocre production. Do not buy this.
  • A moving musical experience

My 8 year old son told me that parts of this album, especially Eternal Alexander, makes him cry. (I have not let him see the movie.) Music that can bring out the emotions of a young child these days is truly inspired.
