Lowdown is funky and if you don’t get up and gyrate you might not have a pulse. A lot of the band for Mr Skaggs are members of Toto. Fire

There are two things that leave me gob-smacked. One, the lack of reviews of this album, and two, this album itself. I remember when thie album came out. I had a girl friend at the time, and she and I took a week end trip to the Oregon coast (Bandon area). We were very much in love (and still are), and the weekend was all about being together. When I hear the song "Harbor Lights", I am immediately transported back to those days, and the feelings that I felt back then come back in a rush! This album, start to finish stood out during a time when rock music was very much in a state of flux. You had country rock still going strong, Punk music on the rise, and the ugly head of disco just around the corner. "Silk Degrees" brought blues back to the fore front of the music scene. Much like the offerings of Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs was an outlier that refused to take his place at the foot of the table. You all should have been around back then, or, as the late Jimmy Buffett put it "You should have been there".

One of the greatest albums of all time! An amazing set of songs with such style and elegance. Boz’s vocals mixed with Jeff Porcaro’s drum groove’s and David’s arrangements made truly a masterpiece.
