I love personal Jesus, enjoy the silence, policy of truth, world In my eyes, and halo as much as the next guy, but the rest of the songs were lame. However, overrated does not mean bad. The songs mentioned above are all 5 stars. The rest? 2.
A Well Deserved 5 Stars!

The album Violator is a sensational masterpiece that also manages to withstand the test of time. The beautifully haunting melodies combined with the dark and mysterious songwriting makes it an unforgettable record of the 90’s. The evolution of Depeche Mode is incredible, and for me Violator is the pinnacle of their work.

Depeche Mode, Violator, 1990. Even the b-sides were great, try Dangerous + Sea of Sin + Happiest Girl. By a wide margin, DM's best album.
A classic

Invented trap and dubstep all within one album. A real classic, and “Personal Jesus”is proof of that claim.
Simply their best album
