Her music is absolutely beautiful. I love the lyrics and I love her voice. What really sets her apart from other contemporary Christian music is how well the instruments are used. Each song has uniquely matched instrumentation to really highlight her beautiful voice and to add the right depth to the words. I wish more contemporary Christian artists would put this much thought into their music. This is outstanding I could listen to this and her prior album all day long.

  • Self love? Very honest

Part of loving God is understanding that we are fearfully and wonderfully created. If we can’t love ourselves how are we to show love to our creator and creations. It’s possible to learn our own value without falling into pride. Self love is not sinful, self-obsession and pride is

Me me me I I I. That’s all this album is. It is such a huge departure from her debut. talking about mental health is important but this entire album just comes off so self-centered so self focused. If you’re looking for an album that points to Jesus, you will be extremely disappointed with this. Her honesty and vulnerability is needed and should be commended, but the heavy focus on self rather than Christ doesn’t leave hope for the hurting. Self love isn’t the answer, Jesus is. Of course we should love ourselves and except ourselves as God created us but this doesn’t mean there should be an over focus on self-love which this album unfortunately does over focus on that.

My wayward daughter would benefit from Katy’s songs and life story. Her beautiful voice and song writing are heartfelt and inspiring. To say otherwise is saddening.

We all love ourselves. This concept is discouraged not encouraged in the Bible. We are to die to self. Crucify our ego. Ego or self pity-the focus is wasting all my time thinkig of me and how everyone needs to do what I want them to do. Stop claiming to be a Christian but writing to appeal to those who never read their bibles. Katy should know better. This is leading people astray.
