House of Flying Daggers, a soundtrack to a very beautiful romantic film. Composed by Shigeru Umebayashi, a Japanese composer who scored many Asian films. Score is composed both from western and eastern themes with emphasizes on the east. Score is consist of multiple themes played by multiple instruments. Many instruments are very exotic for people used to Western music.

I bought this after buying crouching tiger hidden dragon and wish i would have bought this one first. It is great for everything, especially when doing art, practicing tai chi, chi gung, tui na or any energy art, even relaxing.

I think anything with Kathleen Battle in it is bound to be fantastic, she has one of the most beautiful voices of any opera singer hands down.
  • If I could give it more than 5 stars, I WOULD!!

The movie was amazing, and the soundtrack does not let you down. It's definitely one of my favorites! I love the various percussion instruments, they create the most beautiful sound--especially the stringed one--the erhu?? i could have that wrong. My favorites are Jia Ren Qu, Battle in the Forest, No Way Out, Farewell 1&2, and Lovers (Mei and Jin) I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! I also recommend the soundtracks of Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Curse of the Golden Flower if you liked this one.
  • This is one to buy!
