One of the greatest "guitar' live albums ever. Now if they would remaster it. Oerall the mixes sound choppy and things like the crispness of the cymbals is totally lost or muddy. Still, totally excellent music.

Bought this on cassette back in the early seventies and completely wore it out. I'm now going to get an audiophile vinyl copy to spin on my new Audio Technica turntable to show the neighbors that their brick exterior, heavy insulation and triple pane windows are a jmere illusion. PLAY IT LOUD.
  • A true classic.

My brother turned me on to this album in the early 70's. He was a huge EW fan who died too young at 22. But this album lives on and I think of my brother every time I hear it. A true classic live combination of hard rock and blues. These guys nailed it.

This performance by the band features an unparalleled master guitar slinger. Rick Derringer and his Gibson 335 tear it up! The tone is as raunchy as it gets and makes one wonder how his gear survived it. I still get off on the bottom E string bend transition to A. Nasty!

Bought this on vinyl upon release, as did just about every other musician I knew. Edgar was the marquee name but Jerry LaCroix proved he was a perfect match as well as a monster sax player. Speaking of horns, I knew guys who picked up the saxophone solely because of Jon Smith and this album. Long may it reign. Its like will not be seen again. DCH

This album stands the test of time. Johnny and Edgar Winter plus Rick Derringer together are awesome. One of the best live recordings ever, 'nuff said.

Yep, not saying much different here... the band was super great, from Randy Hobbs on bass on up, stellar performaces! "Tobacco Road" is the song that made me take up the sax in high school. I also heard this version of "Rock And Roll Hootchie Koo" first, so the studio version could never live up to it! Other reviewer was right - this is the element where the band really took off. Even the Stevie Wonder tunes (which normally only Stevie could do any justice to) sound fantastic, taking on a balls-out life of their own.

I couldnt have said it better! I bought the LP when it came out & had to buy it again for wearing out the original. Now I have a Remastered CD. "Cool Fool" & "Do Yourself a Favor" just kill!! "Tobacco Road" is peerless & beyond compare, never to be equaled. This album, Will stand the test of time!!

Edgar Winter and crew had the R&B sound and energy. It is very dynamic and not a bad song, nor missed beat on record. I had a chance to see this tour but got snowed out in Chicago. If this doen't get you Jiving then you are dead.
