I remember these songs growing up and when Burl Ives sings them, is truly amazing! One of the greatest folk singers of all time that brings a tear to my eye over these timeless childrens classic songs. Thank you Burl for your greatest memories...!!!

I grew up listening to Burl Ives. My children listened to and loved this album. Now my grandchildren can listen to this beautiful album on Grandma's iPhone!

This looks like a reissue of the early 60's album (where Burl is holding his guitar singing to a group of kids.) BTW: I found this offering's cover art version on an old 1980's reissue tape cassette - so I looked it up on i-Tunes. Sure enough, this is it! Kids will love the old-time songs - although they may seem a bit dated (of course.) I think the original artwork would be a nice touch for us boomers - who played the record over and over. Heck - you could even cut and paste your own cover art if you are savvy enough. On a similar note (pun-intended) look for another offering--Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer soundtrack , includes, Silver and Gold, Holly Jolly Christmas, - I remember this Bass-Rankin Production movie growing up was so campy- but Burl Ives as the narrarator/singer is what led to it being so endearing all these years. Enjoy!

I grew up listening to this album. And by growing up I mean, from when I was to 2-6. Fooba Wooba John holds a special place in my heart as I would sing it with my Dad (my name is John). Great nostalgia, but not sure if you'll like it if you didn't grow up with it.

those who are litteral minded might need to know that the main reviewer is joking. "The sow" is the most innocuous little ditty that I recal from my youth. I mean ... compare froggie went a courtin .. ha ha. anyway, great kid songs , glad to just find it for my memories, and for my 4 year old.
