How can I say this?? Every person connects musically with a certain artist or artists - group or groups. When you hear someone sing with their soul. He touches every nerve under the sun with his music. This CD of his early works is an incredible album to have in your collection. It's clean, pure and honest. I encourage you purchase this one. Go to one of his shows and wait afterwards to meet the man, if that opportunity arises. Edwin is a just guy from the Carolinas making great music. Probably one of the most "down to earth-feet on the ground" guy you will ever meet and listen to. Hope you enjoy this CD.

This was the first purchase I ever made over the internet back in 1996 after seeing Edwin live with Hootie and the Blowfish. A great album with some songs that made it to later albums. Although these versions are more "raw" they have more emotion than the future releases. The songs that weren't re-recorded are just as good, and are some of his best songs ever, in my opinion. Silent Spring is a beautiful song about what the environmental changes going on and how they are affecting the world we live in. Working Man is about the life of a guitar player and the life of a traveling musician. This is a MUST for any EMB fan, and the fact that it has been released on iTunes is a great thing!

This is a re-release of an EARLY Edwin album and NOT a new album. Even at this early stage in his career you could see what a wonderful singer/songwriter Edwin was (and still is). Even after 15 years and a busy touring schedule Edwins light truly shines during his LIVE shows. His music/lyrics really resonate with the fans and I feel truely blessed to have discovered his music.

It's amazing how people will do a review based on misinformation. One reviewer here obviously doesn't know this is a CD that was released years ago. I've heard many fans request it over the years. Really take time to LISTEN to Silent Spring. Such a hauntingly beautiful song. Love 3 A.M. It's funny that Edwin thought it was the worst song he'd ever written. It's one of our favorites. My husband says it shows off the range of his voice better than most. Kitchen Song is just soooo Edwin. And Working Man grabs you and takes you on a great journey. Love the comment about how he likes to hear about your life. I know Edwin loves to just talk to local people when he travels. Gives him lots of inspiration for his lyrics. Of course, Solitude is one song that most people heard Edwin sing the first time. Very specal song. Again, long-time fans will be excited to see the re-release of Solitude. Edwin never disappoints... whether it's the early years or the new Southern Soul album of Covers he's working on right now.

I have been waiting for years to get this CD again! Any REAL EMB fan knows that this CD came out early 90's and it's impossible to find now. Words cannot express how grateful I am to the 'powers that be' for re-releasing this AWESOME early works of EMB; it has been worth the wait!
