I remember hearing "And The Beat Goes On" in 1979 on radio and in the local discos. I loved thr song and ended up buying the album it was
on. Their next album featured the song "It'sS Love Thing" another winner. This collection contains all their hits and some are extended
mixes. Recommended.

The Whispers knew how to do both (make romantic, soulful slow jams and also make great uptempo dance songs). The Whispers did both very well. There are so many Whispers songs that could have made this album, but didn't. And even though they are pretty popular with R&B fans, the Whispers are still in my opinion one of the most underrated groups. I don't recommend buying any Whispers greatest hits albums because group has made so many great songs that don't ever make the cut. Instead, check out all the Whispers individual albums, and buy the songs that you like individually. What they really need is an anthology compilation with about 30 - 35 songs.
