  • Classic Album...Great Music

I was around 4 when this album first came out, my dad had the 8track(!) and my uncle had the record, this album is such a HUGE part of my life, I was so excited when the CD version finally came out. I grew up listening to this, i have so many great memories from this album, in my opinion its the best album from them, no fast forwarding thru songs, but a whole lot of replaying. great music that I still listen to today (I'm listening to it right now) almost 30 years later(!) all you young cats need to realize that this is what a "Classic Album" means. "Open up your love" is a powerful cut, "I fell in love last night" is good to get you moving, and "You are number one" is a awesome slow jam, (Missy used a lot of it on Monica’s "So Gone" I remember hearing it and almost bugging out!) A lot of Strong, solid music here.

In my opinion, this LP is where The Whispers really start to gain momentum in their flight to greatness. These guys have been around since 1969 and they're still doing their thing now! They're a mainstay in the history of great R&B bands and they've influenced many of today's young new artists. "Chocolate Girl" is a sexy stone cold classic, and "I'm Gonna Make You My Wife" is one of the greatest Soul wedding ballads ever written. Seasoned listeners are gonna know this album already, but if you're new to the catalog and haven't peeped this one, do yourself a favor. This is classic Whispers, all the way.
