This album truly embodies the very best of 'A Tribe Called Quest' style! Playful, catchy, rhythmic, bumpin'!!!
  • People slept on this.

This album was ahead of it's time. People that loved Renaissance discovered that this album was just as good.

Q-Tip has the ability to turn any song into a masterpiece. With his band A Tribe Called Quest for ten years he did just that. A year after the groups last album "The Love Movement", Q-Tip thought a solo career was a great choice, wrong. Besides the club banger "Vivrant Thing" the album is weak. Q-Tip ditched his neo soul indie cred for an album cover in which he is decked out in jewels and a fur coat, something he once dismissed as to flashy, corny and ironic. The only thing ironic about Amplified is that Q-Tip thinks he is doing good. Q-Tips 2008 album "The Renasiance" is an improvement, but the only thing that can satisfy my hip hop head is A Tribe Called Quest reunion album. Only one can hope.
