It's hard not to compare this to the flaming lips but, to me, it sounds like a mix between two eras of the lips. One prior to Zaireeka- Soft Bulletin and one after. Overall very good album.

You don't believe me? Then hire someone stoned out of their mind to babysit your kids while you get stoned and drive your car around. Yeah, that's what i thought. This album doesn't have fat lips and never will.
Nice

I concur with earboners. This album is like viagra for your ears. Valium for your soul.

This is something special.
Does anything Wayne and the Lips influence not turn to gold?

I saw these guys on new years eve, (2009). I think they may sound a little odd, but they are devloping their own sound. they were great in concert and i had a great time. but thats besides the point. i think if you give these guys some more time they are going to become a great band!
Perfect, really

I believe this to be a perfect album. It has no flaws. It's just a perfect sounding album, everywhere you listen.

Stardeath and White Dwarfs is definitely a unique listening experience. Contrary to many peoples view of them, they are not punk. These thoughts could be being instilled into peoples minds because they’re always being compared to the Flaming Lips early career, for obvious reasons of course. Like the Flaming Lips, they definitely have room to grow and work on their musical horizon. Unlike the Flaming Lips first albums, they’re very listenable and receivable by a more mainstream audience. This is most likely due to the fact that they have current mainstream music influences, unlike The Flaming Lips who had hardcore punk influences, receivable by only a small cult of fans. Theres really two, possibly three “bangers” on this album, (New Heat, Those Who Are From the Sun Return To the Sun, and Can’t Get Away) the rest being soft, acoustic, spacey songs, much like Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and At War With the Mystics. It’s true that Stardeath probably wouldn’t be where they are if it wasn’t for the lead singer/guitarist being Wayne Coynes nephew. However, this album definitely isn’t a “spoiled cousin or nephew” band. This album definitely deserves a good listen and I would highly recommend it. This band is definitely one to watch out for in the near future.

First written review ever. Saw these guys open for The Flaming Lips last night in Philly. This band is high energetic and just as trippy as the lips and this album really reflects that. Pick this one up!
sounds nice!
