Reviews

  • Gordon Goes Electric

It seems to me that Gordon said something like, "Ok guys, let's use electric guitars on this one, and not acoustic, in our same strumming and fingerpicking styles, but electric." At first, I didn't like it as much as the classic albums he had just released, like Summertime Dream, Cold on the Shoulder, and Sundown. But it has really grown on me. The lyrics and chords are all there, as good as ever. And you can really get into some of these songs. Daylight Katie with that cool tempo change. And Sometimes I Don't Mind with that driving rhythm. And The Circle Is Small was a #33 hit in 1978, a remake of an earlier song of his. Why did I ever doubt him?
  • Gord's TRUE Gold

One of those albums that when it came out did not fare so well. However the years have been more that kind to this LP. It truely defines Gordon as a Prolific song writter and brilliant aranger.Truely the end of an era. Lightfoot fans should revisit this particular album, it is a shame it is often overlooked. His guitar work here is cool to say the least. there are many examples of albums just shy of the 80's like this one wich were not favored by the fans. one such album is Led Zep "in through the out door" anyway, enjoy!
