Mojave is interestingly energetic with its cool textures in the medoly. Bur Cross the Line is absolutely gorgeous. Such a perfect, melodic progression with such beautiful, deep words.

First state has done a tremendous job of bringing together a collection of what I call "Introspective Trance." Trance songs that can't help but make you think about life in general. All those fringe thoughts on the edge of your mind come into focus when you hear the harmonious beats, melodic voices, and thoughtful lyrics. Thank you First State! Brilliant! Perfect on a long drive home after a tough day at work!
  • Keep up the good work!

For a premier sophmore album this compilation of low vibe trance tracks is absolutley stunning. It has a queit soft approach to trance that is both lovely and haunting. It evokes feelings that are reminiscent of Tri-State by Above & Beyond. The textures and emotions that are put together and woven into a tapestry of sound. I'm stunned this is not picked up by every main stream producer out there. This album is a must for 2010. Excellent!! Looking forward to hearing more from this brillant artist.

I know very little about the producer behind First State, but his first artist album "Time Frame" still stands as one of my favorite pieces of progressive trance work. I was just listening to the opening track "Reach Me" on Pandora and it sent shivers down my spine for the 176th time. "Changing Lanes" doesn't fail to disappoint in any way either. Every track is a meticulously produced, stunningly haunting, and 100% dance-floor friendly. I can't pick out any stand-out tracks, because they are all that good. If you were saving your pennies for Armin van Buuren's next album due in September, don't bother. Spend it on this instead. You will not disappointed.
