Who would have thought J Dilla's beats would still go on and be used in alot of rap/hip-hop today.... Abosolutely great album, that brings back Old-school Dilla beats mixed with some new-school beats

I never go a day without complaining about missing the 90's for all the great music it brought us. And being a Slum fan, I had mild expectations for this album 'cause honestly, nothing they have put out has come close to Fantastic Vol.2. Man did i have a nasty surprise!! No doubt Fantastic Vol.2 is still the best, but this comes close second. And even though Dilla and Baatin's physical presence would have done a lot for the album, it's not lacking in anyway production and lyrical wise. I have a lot of respect for artists who refuse to sell their souls and identity for commercial success. Thank you Slum for making me relive the 90's again. Best album of the year, with Little Brother's Leftback in close second.

I've been meaning to write this review since I got this album. Hands down, one of their best to date! It's unfortunate that it's their last as a complete unit, but they delivered on this one. Beats are bangin and original - at times old school while at other times futuristic without being cookie cutter. And the lyrics are on point!! Usually Elzhi stands out to me as the strongest, but in this case, EVERYONE shines. T3 sounds HUNGRY on this album, which I haven't heard from him in a while. Maybe it was all the tragedy he has had that fueled him, but regardless, it shows on this album. Baatin and the beats are a beautiful fit on each track and really showcase his originality and quirkiness. Not to mention dope guest appearances! There are only a few cd's nowadays that are so thorough and that I fully support and endorse. Let it be said that this is definitely one of them!!

I've been a SV fan since their inception!! I bought this joint not to support RJ and other people that will benifit more so than El, Tin or even T3 will, but to get some of the last material Baatin recorded and to support Elzhi for whatever amount he ends up getting paid. It's a shame that he's missing on a majority of the tracks but let's hope they can get away from RJ cause I believe he's the problem amongst the group!! Dope album but it couldve been even doper!!

It's rare to come across an album that not only makes you knod your head but also use the muscle between your ears (your brain). Villa Manifesto represents whats true and real in hip-hop and something that sadly represents a rarity in todays market. For the true fans of hip-hop this is a must have.

I think the song Faster is a new direction for all rap. The melody of the music is sentual and tells it's own story beind the lyrics. Sounds like a premium movie track. Good song, Ive had it on repeat for two weeks straight. Never been a fan of SV but the two songs i bought would definately make me a fan now. Too bad they are breaking up. Somebody slammed the hell of that song Faster.
