Fans of Ronson's work with the Dap Kings, Amy Winehouse, and the island of misfit singers of his previous solo effort may be surprised by this immersion into very 80's electronic music. But after listening to it a few times, you can hear Ronson's same song structures. His approach to transitions, beats, and that particular way he brings in the chorus are very similar to his work on Versions. Give it a chance and you may just come to love it. Fun fact: After producing the upcoming Duran Duran album, Ronson purchased his own replica of Nick Rhodes array of vintage keyboards. You can definitely hear the digital old school across all of Bang Bang Band.
