I think that vittorio has great projection of his voice and has a great tone. I saw Romeo et Juliette at the Metropolitan and i loved it! I love all of his opera and i especially loved possente!!!
  • Lyrical Voice Like Tito Schipa

I hear in his voice the soft, lyrical sounds of the late great Tito Schipa. Great voice with purity of sound! God blessed you and he also blessed me in hearing your sincere vocal convictions!! Good luck. John Ross Eddy

I came across this singer today. And when I heard the preview of Che Gelida Manina from La Bohème I got goosebumps run down my spine. I think he is an amazing singer.

Went to his boheme at the met and had to struggled to stay until act 3. And when he sung the first line of the act 3 quartet, that's when I decided that I would leave after the intermission. Contrary to what people said about him having a small voice, it actually rings out loud in the theater. Nevertheless, he has a questionable technique. Spreading his passagio and singing his top wide open. It wouldn't bother me as much if it's just the technique, I'm a huge fan of Di Stefano who didn't have a flawless technique. His interpretation was shallow and superficial, he dragged through almost everything he sings and he sounded like a loud Italian pop singer. I bought this recording because I thought he sounded different and promising but boy was I dissapointed when I heard him live. Mr. Grigolo, being an opera singer is not just about being sexy and having a beautiful voice. Truly a dissapointment, I just don' see how he can develop into a true artist.

Very good artist. He doesn't have a great voice for opera. It is fairly small, which is reinforced by his reviews at the Metropolitan opera.
  • Very Good Now, Better Later

Vittorio has been singing for a few years now...this album demonstrates his classical abilities. Like others have said, it will be interesting to see how he develops. Obviously, his voice is still "green" but will, like wine, improve over time. If you heard Mario Lanza or Placido Domingo when they were very young, they didn't sound as good as they did in their late 30s (Lanza only lived to be 39). Like other classical artists, Vittorio will need to appeal to a wide range...and a few weeks ago he appeared to the masses on ABC Good Morning America, so he'll have his opportunity to make a name...and then can concentrate on seasoning his voice. Like Bocelli, Lanza, Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti, he has the potential, unlike Josh Groban who has an excellent voice for pop, but not true classical.
  • Bravo!

Beautiful singer. Truly. Bravo! But sometimes it makes more sense to breathe than not to breathe (Ma ne avro, ma ne avro vendetta!). And high notes are not always desirable (at the end of the ''Quando le sere al placido'', for example). Be emotional, not sentimental. Looking forward to seeing how this voice and artist develop.
