Mercy Bound (Bonus Track Version)

I WAS excited to hear there was a new cd coming out, but I only bought one song from this cd. I've been a fan since 1997. The best albums are "messenger", "far from over", and "scream and whisper". I'm very disappointed. Not even sure if I'm looking forward to the next album.

This is no misguided roses, which is probably his best album, but this does take me back to his earlier days a little. I like it and feel it is his strongest album in a long time. I am grateful he continues to perform and write music.

I suppose I could see where this is not classic Edwin, but that doesn't make me love the album any less, I'm continuously grateful for all the music Edwin brings to us. I always say his music just stops me, this album is no different. My greatest love is for his most passionate songs, when you can feel the emotion just through his voice. This album is just another piece of the journey, and I'm happily along for the ride.

Mercy Bound showcases all of the best qualities of Edwin's music. Great music, compelling lyrics and melodies that stick in your head! Seth Glier and Maia Sharp's contributions to the album are perfect!

Edwin Mccian WOW

Alright. Let me let you all know that I love Edwin McCain. I cover most of his songs when I'm playing shows locally. But I will say that he kinda disappointed me with this album. All the song sound like he had a deadline to meet so he just quickly and carelessly wrote these songs out of the blue. Either that or he had these songs written for the longest time and he just realized he had a deadline to meet and he just pulled most of these songs out of his little trunk. The only songs that sound like vintage Edwin McCain are "Sober", and Anywhere I'm Going". Come on McCain! You can do better than this bro. Sorry that's a harsh review, but that's my opinion. Hope it helps.

I have ever song Edwin has put out ever. I have seemed to again find some of my favorites of all time right on this album. Another fantastic job!

Another amazing effort from the best singer/songwriter of our generation. Edwin's ability to tell sincere, heartfelt stories and deliver these stories with a passionate, souful voice makes this album one of his finest. Never sounded better.

Seriously, "Billy Ray"? Since when does any artist have to write songs that take you back to the day you fell in love with them?! Any artist can change and write songs from where they are. Your review is not accurate.

The album seems dark to me and not classic edwin at all... I think he needs to find his muse again...and it's not Maia Sharp! To the person that says this album brings them back to Misguided Roses... my friend you are misguided... This album doesn't even come close...Come on Edwin... find your heart and go back to the true messenger that you once were... Your music changes things...This cd is not your music...This cd only changes the channel. This is from a 15 year fan... Top tracks boom, the lucky one and... thats about it... Where are songs like Cleveland Park, Take Me, Sign on the Door, Sorry to a Friend, Ghosts of Jackson Square, Holy City, The Island song and the list could go on and on...Come back home edwin... oh yeah another song What matters is the heart?
