This is a fantastic album by Mary Chapin Carpenter. It is essential in everyone’s collection of her music.

This old friend holds up as well as it did over twenty years ago. Touching lyrics and lovely vocals produced with simplicity often lost bin today's country music. This album harkens back to the great country rock days of the seventies--JT, Jackson Brown, EmmyLou, etc.

First I must say one of the best on the album though wasn't a hit (idk why), 'Not Too Much to Ask'. Beautiful vocals the 2 of them. All 12 songs are great, takes me right back to the glory days of 90s country music when it was at it's best. You will not be dissapointed by purchasing, some of her best known work but I think she grew as a writter even more in the albums and years that followed. But this was a great place to start with the biggest hits and best known songs.
