Like the song but it sounds to me like shooter is a jealous bitter man. He couldn't make it in country music, besides his song Fourth of July , even with the second most recognized name in country music history behind the last name Williams. Common shooter just because your daddy was a superstar you can live off it forever. Man up and release a good album if your so country and good. Your music got outlawed off the radios basically... What a shame to have that last name and not live up to it

Great song! He is describing most of the country artist today. No heart! Keep up the good work shooter!

Should've been on "Family Man" O well I bought both anyways. Hardest working ARTIST in country. Awesome.

It's no surprise when Shooter wipes the floor with all the people doing country wrong. He is new and nostalgic all in the same package. He's country, he's rock and whatever the hell else he wants to be. He changes on a dime, he's so creative it's insane. The man is pure heart and soul and sings songs that make you think he's been right there through every personal tragedy you've ever endured. It's scary how he knows so much but go to a show and he says so little. I've been to 33 shows since 2005 and not one has been the same as the one before. He is an outlaw, in every sense of the word. The man will not sell out.

I have read most of these reviews and I think this song is ok (in my opinion) and I like Shooter music. Who exactly it's about? It really sounds like it's about Eric Church. If so, well it's all good. But what's funny is the fact that Church is a good song writer and a hell of a lot better vocalist. Shooter is firing shots like he is some big country outlaw.... What the h$&@ does that mean anyway? Does it mean that he will not sing someone else's song, or that he went to the drunk tank for a PI.....? And he wants to call himself outlaw country?? YOU HAVE TO BE COUNTRY FIRST!!! just because you drink a beer by the river and play a song you wrote, or play in a honky tonk..it doesn't make you country... Oh, I know, I will go out to a bar in my work clothes and not shave.. Then I will be OUTLAW COUNTRY.. cause I am staying true to my roots.. Give me a #%^**>< break!!! Let's stop pointing fingers at who's being a fake or selling out. How bout he change his last name and see how far he will go. There are so many song writers and singers out there that never make it and they are far better than shooter, let's not kid our selves. Got nothing against the man, but it sounds like jealousy to me. Waylon, Willie, Hank, Cash...heck all those ole guys would be proud their name is being carried through song. And for shooter to put anybody down for that just amazes me. Again I will go with jealousy. The first lyric to Eric Churches "like Jesus does" is "I'am a long gone Waylon song on vinyl" man that says so much...and pays so much homage to shooters father. I do think it's kinda funny, he is singing this song while he is dropping the same names. Oh, I forget, Waylon was his father and he is entitled to do what he wants cause he is "OUTLAW COUNTRY"!!! How do you pay your dues in country music? I'll tell you... Just like any other genre of music... You earn it by playing in bars, clubs, dance halls.. Use what you got and make it where you want to!! Shooter... Take that chip off your shoulder and play on brother!!!!

I love this! he knows he's not gonna sell this to anyone, but he does it anyway because its true to country music. And i totally agree with him, in the last few years country has progressed into the mainstream and became more about looks and more fake just like the rest of the industry. Country used to be my thing, but now its everyone's and i dont like it anymore. I've retreated into alternative rock lol. But seriously this isnt the most well written song but it beats half the crap everyone's putting out right now, so I LOVE IT!

Shooter Jennings makes quality music all around. Everything he does is good. He's one of the few artists that's multi-genre talented; that commands respect. I will buy the full album the day it comes out!
