this album grew on me slowly… its more subtle from her earlier work, but its more thoughtful and sophisticated. i recommend multiple listens before you write it off.

I found the album to be a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed "confusion." I wasn't familiar with the artist but was looking for some music from a female vocalist with a high range and so happened to get a couple of the tracks, they quickly became favorites and now I'm back for the rest of them. A+

You'll feel like you're strolling the cold, midnight streets of New York, walking by discotheques and over-hearing their tunes... The album has a little bit of everything: Broken Record and Shake make you wanna dance, and Motorway and Strangers are more night-drive-ish. Definitely agreeing with the former comment — soundtrack to our summer nights right here! This album is a bit different than her first because it's not as... "energetic"? (For lack of a better word) these tracks are very chill, and very trancing or hypnotizing... I listened a lot to this album on the highway night and day. I love Little Boots!

A little bland in comparison to her first album. The only tracks on here (in my opinion) that don't sound like filler are "Motorway" and "Satellite". I love Little Boots, but I have to say this isn't one of my faves.

This album is as great as her last! A little less bubble than her last album but in a good way!

This is nothing compared to her last album. That is the Little Boots I like, not this. This is way too electronic for her. Not 100% happy with this CD compared to her last.

If you waited for this album simply hoping for more of the same that came from Illuminations or Hands, you're going to be torn, at best, and disappointed, at worst. That said, Nocturnes is a phenomenal new effort from Little Boots. While this album certainly skews more towards electronic or electro-pop than to pure pop, repeated listening sessions will be rewarded. Give this album time, and it will certainly grow on you. Tracks like the heartbreaking "Strangers" showcase Victoria's writing and vocal abilities, but it feels like singing and storytelling have taken a bit of a backseat to beats that stick with you long after the track is over. If you're already a fan of the singles "Shake" and "Every Nigh I Say A Prayer", approach this with cautious optimism, as there's a clear difference in what you're going to get relative to the deeper album cuts vs. the radio-friendly tracks. However, if you want to get your hands on a brilliant package of perfectly arranged tracks, stop reading this and click "BUY".

Compared to her previous work, this album feels like elevator music. No interesting hooks, boring bass lines. Every song runs into itself and feels like filler. So bummed because I was expecting so much better.
