There are many albums that are for relaxation, but of all this one is the best by far. Many relaxation or sleep aid albums have strange, spooky qualities; mainly just overly synthesized or electronic sounds. But this album features real music: a talented vocal group, violin, bassoon, etc. - real sound! Many of these songs are actually poems set to music, and the beautiful, soothing words are sure to melt away any stress of the day. I have enjoyed this cd since it's release, and I know you won't be disappointed.

These recordings by Bill Douglas are a rarity -- New Age music that is genuinely musical. Douglas is a teacher as well as a composer, and these compositions showcase his mastery of his craft. The Ars Nova singers are everything that a trained a capella group is supposed to be. They are on pitch, they are together, their voices blend well. They are precise as well as flowing and gentle. The simple instrumentals -- piano, oboe, etc. achieve a maximum of ends with a minimum of means. Douglas's recordings are the very definition of musical elegance, and Celtic grace.

I first heard this CD while getting a massage. It was so peaceful and utterly relaxing. My thoughts just floated away with the music. Very beautiful.
