Bought the album and even though it is an awesome album , i was disappointed when i started to listen to it. It sounds like if i am listening to it on a cheap record player with one cheap speaker. What an injustice to a great album.

Another iTunes scam, a repackaged greatest hits collection AGAIN?????? This group had several greatest hits compilations done twice in the seventies, once in the 80s, 90s, and again. Nothing new is from this group in over 16 years!!!!!!! And you dopes are talking about how great this collection is. Don't get me wrong, Deep Purple is a pioneer of heavy metal music. Every group member is a virtuoso, including the vocalists in their own right!! And granted every song is a classic. But it's been done again and again. It's not even remastered nor technologically enhanced. So what's the point??? These reviewers are talking about it like its a new discovery. My gosh, are you all that lame!! Get the original albums, because if you get this stupid, redundant compilation, you are missing out on some great structure that the original album track order revealed. Albums back in their day, were the way to really listen to these masters of rock!!!!! Buying this greatest hits deal is pure stupidity. And those who are reviewing it like its new are idiots. Deep Purple is a group to be reckoned with, like Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, the Who, Grand Funk Railroad, etc. But the ignorance, not to mention the spelling from you reviewers is PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the albums, BURN, MACHINE HEAD, MADE IN JAPAN, PERFECT STRANGERS, STORMBRINGER. THIS IS HEAVY ROCK AND ROLL. Not this crap.

Knockin At Your Back Door is not on the "Very Best Of"?????? Who missed that addition to the CD???

Where's the early stuff...Kentucky woman and the like, Book of Taliesyn is a classic, so for all you newbies they didn't start rockin' with their hit singles !

Any rock band with a tenth of DP talent can be more than successful anytime, anywhere.

Burn, Smoke on the Water, great songs and the incredibly underrated Child in Time. Also think April should have been on this album as well.

Yes, having a collection of some of Deep Purple's best work is a good thing, and this iTunes album has some of them. But strangely, the CD version is cheaper and contains 3 more seminal songs. No Deep Purple best-of collection can be complete without Hush and Lazy, and this iTunes album has neither. The CD does have Hush but is strangely missing Lazy. You'll have to pick up a couple other albums, like Machine Head, to really get a good feel for the band's breadth and depth of work and talent.

I love DEEP PURPLE!!! Their sound is different than anyones!!! It comes on, you know who it is!! This is a MUST HAVE!!!!!
