This is one of the best albums from Indian Ocean. All the lyrics were written by Piyush Mishra, a great poet. The words used in the lyrics are amazing utilization of hindi and urdu. All the songs catch the real depth ("murm") of poetic truth. Someone should however change the title of "Bharam Bhap Ke". Here it is listed as "Bharam paap ke"

Each of the tracks are beautiful. The lyrics are deep. The music is as usual "Indian Ocean". Authentic, original, different. I only hope the Band gets to make more music. They have been running short on time with tours etc. Very few albums. I have all their albums and waiting for more. I still thoroughly enjoy Village Damsel on Desert Rain (Their First album).
  • Indian Ocean's first movie soundtrack - Deliciously Different

As a avid follower of Indian Ocean - let me just start by saying that this album is very different from all their other albums. - It has much more Rock and Jazz influence to it. Its the soundtrack of a Hindi Movie with the same name - to do with the bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai in 1998. My favourite tracks are Bandeh - a moving, emotive track of a prisoner, presumably caught for the blasts. Badshah in Jail is also one of my favourite - along with Memon House. If you are wondering which album to get - between Khandisa and Black Friday - realize that they are very different albums. Khandisa is probably more representative of Indian Ocean's signature style while Black Friday is a showcase of their maturing in genres that they had not done before. Worth a buy.
