A quick timelapse from the morning event known as Dawn Patrol, when the balloons launch prior to sunrise. This was the very first time the Dawn Patrol was held and according to the announcer was the first of its kind in the Midwest. It's part of the activities taking place in Indianola, Iowa during the National Balloon Classic. Following the Dawn Patrol, is the morning balloon competition where over 70 pilots compete by dropping bean bags at specific targets. If you haven't been to the event for the morning balloon launches - you should check it out, its not only a great event - it's FREE! There's no admission and they even provide free chairs (first come, first serve until they are gone). This timelapse was captured on the morning of Wednesday, July 30th, 2014. It consists of approximately 1,500 photos that were compiled to make this one minute video.
