YummyTori opened its flagship branch on Edinburgh’s Lothian Road in June 2012. YummyTori is an exciting new dining and drinking concept for Edinburgh, offering an authentic Japanese izakaya experience in a fun and casual atmosphere. The YummyTori experience is built around authentic Japanese cuisine. We specialise in yakitori skewers, Japanese tapas, imported Japanese drinks (sake, shochu and beers), our own cocktails matched to our food and exceptional service. At YummyTori, we are trying to re-create the atmosphere of a Japanese izakaya in a modern, casual environment. This is an entirely new concept for Edinburgh and we have put our yakitori chefs and their specialist grills centre-stage. An izakaya is a kind of Japanese tapas bar, perfect for informal, fun dining. Customers can pop in for a drink and a small bite to eat; they can order a selection of food for a larger meal, or they can come in for cocktails and to enjoy our range of specialist imported Japanese drinks such as sake, shochu, umeshu and Japanese beers. As in Japan, it is possible to sit at the bar and watch our chefs at work, or to take a larger table with a group of friends or colleagues. Even if you pop in on your own, our friendly staff are happy to chat and to explain our unique combination of food and drinks.
