Oak Tree Project is a scholarship/mentoring program for Korean orphans who get into college. Students receive $500 a month for their living expenses and are paired with a mentor who is committed to them until they graduate. The students are always thankful first for the money they receive through the scholarship. But as they continue with the program they discover just how important their mentors are to them. Oak Tree Project is not just about financially helping orphans get through college, but it is also about putting the lonely into families and teaching them ways to succeed. We filmed an orphan who's just graduated college as a theatre major through the help of the Oak Tree Project. While we were doing her interview for a promo video for the Oak Tree Project, we asked if she could sing on the spot a song she knew, being a theatre major. She chose "Part Of Your World" from The Little Mermaid. I thought this vid lent a humanity to her that could only be expressed in song and art, apart from the other promo video we made.
