For shooting B-roll at Nicolls Road, I tried to imagine what would be said in a story involving the speed limit change on Nicolls Road. I did some research and found that the change was from 55 MPH to 45. The change was made primarily due to recent accidents and a desire for increases pedestrian safety. In the B-roll, I wanted to show the new speed limit, as well as a few shots of cars driving from various standpoints. I also wanted to show one of the main reasons for the change, pedestrian safety, hence the electronic crossing guard. The drivers must obey the new law, shown by the new sign and the oldie but a goodie red light. Nicolls Road is also in close proximity to Stony Brook University, and is a well-known road by students and faculty, which is portrayed by the SBU sign right near Nicolls Road.
