Peaky Blinders. DOP: Semenov Alexey cast: Stepan Domashniy, Ivan Polyakov, Valdemar Kvaskov Moviemaking is a complex and time consuming process with huge amount of details to think about. When I have opportunity between projects for work I’m looking for challenge and ways to practice in storytelling and operator skils. In this example my friend Oleg Олег Шарифуллин and few friends made a photoshoot being exited on the mood of the Peaky Blinders Series so they decided to make a photoshoot and I joined to make some shots and tried to tell some small story. Realy small but still! We had about 3 hours on the location and between photoshoots (as you may see a flash lights) I tried to capture and quickly direct guys to act some sceens made “on the run” (without diologs thou). And for lights there was only few photo strobs seted on pretty low monior light and high ceiling lamps with low TLCI. Second goal in test was to get close on colorgrade mood as in the Peaky Blinders (from first season) in colors. And this is become a real challenge. I’l leave it for you to decide is it good or not.
