It’s getting colder, but it’s still leaf season—and our sweepers are busier than ever. We need your help to keep our roads safe, clean, and ready for winter. Here’s what to remember: 🍂 Don’t sweep or rake leaves or yard debris into the roadway. When leaves end up in the street, they clog storm drains, cause localized flooding, create slick and dangerous surfaces for drivers and cyclists, and some debris can even pollute our rivers. They also slow down our sweepers, which must dump more often, reducing how much ground they can cover. 🚗 Move vehicles, trash bins, and other items like portable basketball hoops out of the roadway. This helps our sweepers reach as much of your neighborhood as possible and keeps the sweeping schedule running smoothly. 🚧 If you need to pass a sweeper, please do so carefully. You can see them—but they may not see you. Give them plenty of space and please be patient as they work. Together, a few small actions can make a big difference for roadway safety, stormwater health, and keeping our city beautiful. Thank you for doing your part!
