http://www.jackinabox.be/fom It's a rare feeling, realising that a teaser achieves the same quality and originality as the product it is supposed to tease. For the Fall of Man, a home-brew project, our own Toon Mertens wanted to reimagine the way the Flemish Primitives would be constructed in today's technologically advanced world. So he poured all their dogma's into photography, creating a 3 by 5 meters tall image of mankind falling in the metaphorical abyss, as well as an interactive version on http://www.jackinabox.be/fom After hours and hours of photo compositing, another trillion hours were spent to make this frozen momentum come to life again, solely for the purpose of audiovisual translation. So yes, it's a teaser, it teases you to come and take a gander at the work in full, or to discover all the details on http://www.jackinabox.be/fom . But it's also a work on its own. Making The Fall of Man a multi medial project way surpassing any short-sighted interpretations of the Flemish Primitives. Take that, art school! With additional thanks to Samuel Engelen & Suzan Verschraege, who animated more than their share of hands, feet and boobs for their lifetime. Shot on Hasselblad 4D Additional animation by Samuel Engelen, Suzan Verschraege, Enak Cortebeeck Made with the support of STROOM (c)Jack in a Box 2014
