The St. Clair County (SCC) Department of Veterans Affairs is proud to announce that Chris Smith will take over the Director position recently vacated. Chris was the Department's benefits counselor. As Director, he will lead and represent the department, act as an agent for the Soldiers Relief Commission program, act as an agent and supervise the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund program, and assist veterans and their families in obtaining benefits available through federal, State and/or local legislation and from private organizations. Chris and his wife Jackie have been married over 18 years and are the parents of two children. In his spare time, he volunteers as an assistant coach for a local high school's football and basketball teams. His first official day is December 10.
