After watching some of the opening World Cup matches this past week, I found myself feeling like a kid again. One thing I used to do after watching my favorite teams play was grab a controller and jump into FIFA, trying to recreate the moments I had just seen on screen. Today, my favorite franchise has evolved into FC 26, but that feeling hasn't changed. The excitement of stepping onto a virtual pitch and creating those moments for myself remains exactly the same. This weekend, I decided to lean into that nostalgia and put together a short capture reel inspired by the matches, celebrations, rivalries, and moments that made me fall in love with the game in the first place. My focus wasn't on color grading or creating a polished marketing piece. Instead, I wanted to spend time playing, experimenting with cameras, exploring composition, and finding interesting ways to showcase the drama, emotion, and spectacle that make football such a powerful sport. I'm still developing my visual language when it comes to cinematic lighting and storytelling, but I don't want that to stop me from exploring new creative avenues. I plan to help shape campaigns for the games and brands I grew up with. In many ways, this reel is a small step in that direction. Most importantly, I wanted to create something that would excite me, something that would make the kid who rushed home to play FIFA after every big match want to pick up a controller and play one more game.
